You have a max budget $1,000 to buy a relatively unique car that you think you can have back on the road in no more than one year. What do you buy?
First choice would be this 1971 Mercedes 250. Looks like it could easily be turned into a nice runner in under a year. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
The back up option would be this 1986 Ford Bronco, not my favorite Bronco, but a rust free version of these is totally worth it.

A poor runner for under $800, in the right color, and needing a good bit of work. I don’t care if it’s “unsafe at any speed.” Set up right these things can carve corners like a modern sports car.
